Ukraine’s President Petro Poroshenko has said he will renew military operations against pro-Russian separatists.
Coming just hours after the end of a ten-day ceasefire which failed to make way for peace talks, the statement published on Poroshenko’s website on Tuesday said Kyiv troops will “attack and free” their lands.
Both sides have blamed each other for violating the terms of the truce.
In rebel strongholds in the east of country like Slovyansk fighting has already been reported.
The Foreign Ministry in Kyiv has said 27 Ukrainian servicemen have been killed since the beginning of the ceasefire on June 20.
