At least two Palestinians have been killed in Gaza in an airstrike. Israeli defence officials confirmed the hit, accusing the men of being members of a militant group aligned with the territory’s Hamas rulers.
The deaths followed a separate incident on Friday in Gaza, in which six Palestinians were injured, including an 11-year-old boy, after Israeli tanks opened fire.
Israel claimed that attack was a response to the detonation of an earlier explosive against its troops on the border.
The military strikes come at a time of renewed tension in the region following the disappearance of three Israeli teenagers in the West Bank.
On Thursday, Israel named two Palestinian men it suspects of kidnapping the youths.
Hundreds of Palestinians have been arrested during raids in the hunt for the missing teenagers.
