Further Hamas arrests made as Israeli troops search for missing teenagers

Israeli troops have stepped up their search for three missing teenagers, thought to have been kidnapped.

Intensified overnight raids have seen Palestinian Parliamentary speaker Aziz Dweik arrested. He joins 150 of his countrymen now detained by Israeli forces in connection with the incident.

Arrests late on Sunday evening led to clashes in which one Palestinian was reportedly shot dead.

Tel Aviv has accused Hamas of being behind the presumed kidnappings although Hamas denies any involvement.

The search operation began when two 16 year olds and one 19 year old went missing on Thursday after walking back from their school near an Israeli settlement in the West Bank.

Israel has vowed to continue efforts to find the students, one of whom is thought to hold a US passport. Palestinian officials have said they are cooperating with the search.
