A court in Western China has sentenced three people to death for an incident in Tiananmen square last October. Five others were given sentences ranging from life to five years in prison.
Two bystanders were killed and 40 people injured when a car ploughed into a nearby crowd.
Beijing has since blamed Islamic militants for the attack.
