The UK’s economic recovery seems to be taking hold. In April a record number of people found work, as unemployment fell to its lowest level in more than five years.
Things are going better in Japan as well. The government says the economy strengthened more than initially estimated in the early part of the year, all thanks to corporate and consumer spending.
While Ukraine and Russia have been negotiating over gas tariffs, Moscow’s energy plans came under attack by the EU, which has reportedly asked Bulgaria to suspend work on the South Stream gas pipeline project.
And with all eyes on the World Cup, we look at some of the economic and social factors getting people agitated in Brazil.
