Syrian President Bashar al-Assad has announced a “general amnesty” for crimes committed before June 9th
State television made the announcement but It was not immediately clear who would be included,
It will be the fifth such amnesty since the civil war broke out more than three years ago.
It comes a week after Assad secured a landslide victory in an election that was condemned as a sham by his opponents as well as the European Union
