Algeria are not to be ruled out as contenders in the 2014 World Cup.
They beat Burkina Faso 1-0 in the second leg of their play-off to become the last African qualifiers and won all bar one match in the previous group stage.
The only Arab nation in the competition, the Desert Foxes have been praised by former World Cup Stars Diego Maradona, Rivaldo and Javier Zanetti.
Maradona predicts the Greens “will cause a surprise” and France-born attacking midfielder and winger Sofiane Feghouli may be the one to do it.
Described by Arsene Wenger as “exceptional” he was named in the French squad for the first time when he was just 18.
It will be coach Vahid Halilhodzic’s first World Cup. Since taking charge in 2011, he has cast aside some of the more established players, opting instead for a number of France’s former youth team.
Algeria will play in Group H, alongside South Korea, Belgium and Russia.
