World Cup 2014: Portugal ready to shine

Portugal have confirmed that Cristiano Ronaldo is suffering from tendinosis as they continue their preparations for the World Cup.

The former Manchester United winger, who is currently undergoing “specially adapted” training, scored a record 17 goals in this year’s Champions League season, helping Real Madrid win ‘La decima’.

Portugal struggled to qualify as they were held to disappointing draws at home by Israel and Northern Ireland, en route to finishing second in their group behind Russia.

Paulo Bento’s men, who are in Group G with Germany, Ghana and USA, will play two more friendlies against Mexico and Ireland before their opening match in the World Cup against Die Mannschaft on June 16.
