World Cup 2014: Ivory Coast bidding to make history

Manchester City midfielder Yaya Toure and former Chelsea star Didier Drogba will be looking to make history with their country when they travel to Brazil this summer.

Despite being hailed as the best team in Africa, Ivory Coast have never made it past the group stages of the World Cup.

Ivory Coast fans will take heart from the fact that their national side breezed through their opening qualifying group with four wins from their six matches before outclassing Senegal in the play-off to secure their place in Brazil.

Sabri Lamouchi’s men have been pitted against Colombia, Greece and Japan in Group C.
