World Cup 2014: France looking to bounce back

Former World Champions France will be looking to bounce back from their dreadful 2010 campaign when they travel to Brazil this summer.

Deschamps’ side begin their World Cup adventure in Group E against Honduras on 15 June, before facing Switzerland five days later and Ecuador on 25 June.

The French national team coach made controversial decisions as he left out some big names including Manchester City midfielder, Samir Nasri in a bid to create a stronger team atmosphere in Brazil.

Although France are arguably the favourites to go through, their preparations face a major blow with news that Franck Ribery could miss this summer’s showpiece.

The 31-year-old has an ongoing back problem that has plagued the former Marseille winger for most of last season.
