Defending Champion Spain included Diego Costa in its 23-man squad for this summer’s World Cup in Brazil despite injury concerns over the Atletico striker.
The 25-year-old, who was struggling with niggling muscle problems in the final weeks of the La Liga and Champions League campaigns, made the cut along with team-mate David Villa, Chelsea’s Fernando Torres and Manchester United’s Juan Mata.
