The winners have been announced at the 2014 Cannes film festival and the top priz, the Palm d’Or, went to Turkish film director Nuri Bilge Ceylan. Ceylan had previously won the Cannes Grand Prix in 2002 and in 2011 but this year the coveted prize went to his film ‘Winter Sleep’.

Set in a mountaintop hotel, Winter Sleep is about the inner workings of people and how this informs their relationships with others. Euronews caught up with Ceylan on the red carpet.
