Germany’s Nico Rosberg led from start to finish to clinch an incident-packed Monaco Grand Prix on Sunday.

After coping with two safety car interludes, the Mercedes driver took the chequered flag 9.2 seconds ahead of team-mate Lewis Hamilton for his second win this season and the fifth of his F1 career.

Australia’s Daniel Ricciardo produced a solid run but eventually had to settle for third place after putting Hamilton under immense pressure in the final laps while Spanish Ferrari driver Fernando Alonso just missed out on a podium finish.

This win sees Rosberg take the overall championship lead from Hamilton with Mercedes now 141 points above their nearest rivals in the manufacturers’ rankings.

Speed will return next week with MotoGPs Italian Grand Prix.
