Islamist militants Boko Haram are being blamed for killing 30 people in villages near Chibok where hundreds of Nigerian schoolgirls were abducted.
It comes the day after back-to-back bomb blasts, attributed to the group, killed as many as 200 people in the central city of Jos, according to latest,unconfirmed reports. The figure earlier was put at 118 dead.
President Goodluck Jonathan has condemned the blasts, calling the perpetrators “cruel and evil”.
The militant group, fighting for an Islamic state, grabbed world headlines by abducting over 200 schoolgirls from the northeastern village of Chibok last month.
Britain, the United States and France have pledged to help rescue them.
