Racism in football has reared its ugly head again in Italy.
AC Milan striker Mario Balotelli has been racially abused by a fan as he was training with the national squad ahead of this summer’s World Cup.
Racist abuse was directed at Balotelli by a young fan at Italy’s training camp in the Coverciano district of Florence.
President of the Italian football federation has called the behaviour ‘‘unacceptable’‘.
According to reports police intervened to allow the training session to continue.
Balotelli has been racially abused by fans on several occasions in Italy whilst playing for Juventus, Inter and AC Milan.
