Blast in Bangkok kills two

An explosion in Bangkok has killed two people and injured at least 21 others.

The blast happened near an anti-government protest site

A doctor at a Bangkok emergency centre said the wounded had been hit by shrapnel.

It’s the most serious incident yet in protests designed to bring down the government.

The protests are the latest phase in nearly 10 years of hostility between the royalist establishment and ousted former Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra.
