Reigning MotoGP world champion Marc Marquez on Wednesday signed a two-year contract extension with Honda.
The 21-year-old Spaniard won the title last year in his debut season becoming the youngest ever world champion in the elite class.
He has carried over his stunning form into this season winning all four races from pole so far.
He currently enjoys a 28-point lead over compatriot and team-mate Dani Pedrosa in the championship standings ahead of this weekend’s French Grand Prix at Le Mans.
The Japanese manufacturer has yet to announce whether it will also offer a contract extension to Pedrosa, who started his MotoGP career with them in 2006 but has yet to win the world title.
