LA Clippers owner banned for life over racist remarks


LA Clippers owner Donald Sterling has been banned for life after a recorded conversation emerged of him making racist comments.

In the audio recordings that surfaced over the weekend the Clippers owner told his mistress Vanessa Stiviano not to associate with black people in public.

Stiviano denies releasing the taped conversation to the media.

On Sunday Clippers players staged a silent protest by wearing their warm-up shirts inside out to hide the team’s logo.

While several sponsors have suspended advertising with the LA franchise.

National Basketball Association commissioner Adam Silver said the 80-year-old billionaire would be forced to sell the team, while he is also expected to be slapped the maximum 1.8 million euro fine by the league.
