Begin Again, directed by John Carney, staring Keira Knightley, Mark Ruffalo and Adam Levine, closed this year’s Tribeca Film Festival.
The two stars admitted that making the film took them both outside their comfort zones. Keira Knightley said: “I was completely terrified. I didn’t anticipate being as frightened as I was. I think it was sort of “I said yes to doing it,” and I was, “Oh, it’s gonna be fine, it’s gonna be fine,” and then suddenly I found myself in a studio with real people who did it for a living and I was like,“I don’t know what I’m doing. I’m pretending!”
Adam Levine said that although making the film was his first stab at acting, he enjoyed it enough to want to try again: “My experience was so much fun. It really felt like, it turned me on. It got me going. It made me kind of start to like it a little bit, but I don’t know. I don’t think you can really make those bold declarations but we’ll see.”
Begin Again is about life, love and music in New York city. It will be on screens across Europe this summer.
