Benfica v Juventus

In Portugal Benfica sprang a surprise in the second minute of their first-leg Europa League semi-final against Juventus when Ezequiel Garay fired them in front with a header.

A fit again Carlos Tevez struck the equaliser 17 minutes from time. But substitute Lima had the home fans in raptures with the winner in the 84th minute.

It’s advantage to the Portuguese for their journey to Italy for the second-leg tie next week.

Sevilla v Valencia

Sevilla went into the all Spanish semi-final against Valencia unbeaten in their last 13 home games against the opposition. Two goals in the space of three minutes on the half hour mark made it 14.

Stephane Mbia’s left footed shot from close range to the bottom right hand corner was the first.

The second was tucked home by Carlos Bacca from the centre of the box.

It’s a difficult task for Valencia if they are to deny Sevilla a place in the Turin final.
