Former Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi is to begin his community service next week.
The 77-year-old media tycoon must spend four hours a week working at an old people’s home in Milan as part of a one-year tax fraud sentence.
After completing the first six months the sentence will automatically be reduced to 10 months.
The court ruling also limits Berlusconi’s movements to the Lombardy region but allows him to travel to Rome weekly and does not restrict his political activity.
