Kraft cheesed off by hot dog recall

Kraft is recalling around 43,000 kilos of its hot dog sausages.

The problem is they are so-called ‘Cheese Dogs’ one ingredient of which is milk, but the packaging misidentifies them as ordinary hot dogs.

It does not say the product contain milk, which can cause allergic reactions in some people.

The recall is voluntary, but Kraft had no choice as the US Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service said they are a high health risk.

The hot dogs were sold only in the United States, where there were no reports of any adverse reactions.

Kraft has not revealed how much the recall will cost it.
