Prayers and protest mark Easter in South Korea
Thousands of South Koreans marked Easter Holiday on Sunday (April 20) as they prayed for those missing missing inside a sunken ferry five days ago. Some 15,000 people gathered at an amphitheatre in Yonse University in Seoul at dawn to commemorate what they believe was Jesus’ resurrection from the dead. Around 100 people gathered on the island of Jindo in the southwest of the country, the centre of the rescue effort. They tried to march across a bridge to the mainland to take their protest to the capital of Seoul but were prevented from doing so by police.
