Authorities in western Japan are disposing of more than 110,000 chickens after an outbreak of bird flu.

The cull was ordered after two chickens tested positive for the H5 virus on Sunday at a farm in Taragicho.

Results of tests will be published in the next few days.

Officials from Kumamoto Prefecture said they could not confirm yet whether there was any risk of human infection.
