Manny Pacquiao won a unanimous decision in his rematch with Timothy Bradley, avenging his controversial 2012 defeat and claiming the WBO welterweight title.
Two judges at the MGM Grand Casino Hotel in Las Vegas scored the fight 116-112 for Pacquiao, while a third saw it as a 118-110 win for the Filipino.
“Pacquiao was the better man tonight, he showed what he’s made of, the dude still has it. The reason why I love Pacquiao so much is he never ducks an opponent, he’s always willing to face the best, and he faced one of the best tonight, and he came out on top, so Manny Pacquiao is a true champion, an unbelievable fighter, and I have much respect for him and his team,” said Bradley at a news conference after his defeat.
Pacquiao was more aggressive and accurate from the opening minutes of the rematch. Big punches were exchanged in the opening rounds, but the Filipono appeared to wear out Bradley with the heavy early pace.
