European Citizens' Initiative (ECI): How to make it succeed?

Can one million signatures change Europe? How much political impact on EU policies can we realistically expect? In the annual conference “ECI Day 2014: Building up success” the organisers will try to answer these questions and more. The event will be dedicated to the best practices to have emerged from the first successful and completed citizens’ initiatives: Right2Water and One of Us. The debates in three parallel workshops on the political, legal and campaigning aspects of the ECI will result in a list of recommendations on how to make the initiative more effective, ahead of its revision in 2015. We will be bringing together citizens’ committees, EU institutions and academic experts to ensure a full and multi-faceted analysis of the ECI as it is today and as it could be in the future.

Join the discussion via #ECI, #ECIDAY2014 and #EESC and follow the conference via live stream online on 15 April between 9.30 a.m. and 4.30 p.m. CET
