International dignitaries were among the mourners as the state funeral for Spain’s former Prime Minister Adolfo Suarez was held in Madrid on Monday.
King Juan Carlos and Queen Sofia presided over the mass in the capital’s Almudena Cathedral.
Suarez, who died aged 81, was Spain’s first post-Franco premier.
He is credited with building bridges between Spain’s disparate political factions following the death of dictator General Franco in 1975.
