The spectacular Corinth Canal in Greece is 6.4 kilometres in length, only 21 metres wide at its base and impassable for most modern ships.

But Hungarian Peter Besenyei had other means of transportation to cross the historic waterway.

Initiator of the Red Bull Air Race championship, Besenyei needed all his flying experience to cross the canal whilst performing multiple aerial tricks and extremely risky maneuvers considering the eight-metre wingspan of his plane.

After his daring exploit which also involved flying under the old bridge of Corinthos the 57-year-old – who won the inaugural edition of the Red Bull Air Race world tour – said it was a ‘dream come true’.
