Local favourite Peter Prevc gave the Slovenian crowd something to cheer about when he won the season’s final World Cup ski jump event in Planica on Sunday.
The 21-year-old, who won silver and bronze at last month’s Sochi Olympics, recorded the longest jump of the day, 142 metres for an impressive total of 283.7 points, enough to secure second place in the overall standings ahead of nearest rival Severin Freund.
Anders Bardal of Norway finished third while Olympic Champion Kamil Stoch, who had wrapped up the title on Saturday, missed the podium by 0.1 points with a best jump of 139m.
