Two construction workers have been killed in Ypres in Belgium after a World War One shell exploded nearly 100 years after the conflict began.

A third man is in a critical state while a fourth is said to be in shock.

Belgium’s military have recently removed or made safe some 600 tonnes of explosives mostly around the former World War One battle lines in western Flanders.
