As emergency EU talks got rolling in Brussels, Europe promised to support Ukraine with all means possible. European Parliament President Martin Schulz reiterated backing self-determination for Ukrainians.
Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk said: “This is not a Ukrainian-Russian conflict. This this conflict in Europe. And we need urgently to tackle this problem, and we are ready to find a solution in a contact group. We are ready to find an off ramp together with the US, the EU, with Russia and with Ukrainian participation.”
Martin Schulz said Europe’s intention was to provide an 11 billion euro aid package “immediately”, to give the new authorities in Kyiv a fair chance of addressing urgent tasks.
