Oscar host Ellen DeGenere used her time under the spotlights at the Dolby Theater to make history.

Gathering stars with Brad Pitt, Julia Roberts, Jennifer Lawrence, Meryl Streep, Kevin Spacey, Bradley Cooper and Angelina Jolie, she took a selfie live during the show.

She then announced her intention to make this picture the most retweeted picture ever on Twitter.

And Twitter delivered. It took the picture approximately 35 minutes to reach the number of retweets of the previous record-holder, Barack Obama, with 780.000+ retweets. An hour after posting the star-studded selfie, it had gather more than 1.3 million retweets.
