Hundreds of fans gathered at Munich’s international airport on Monday to greet Germany’s national Olympic team upon their arrival following the Sochi Olympics.
More than 100 athletes were on the specially chartered flight including Die Mannschaaft’s most successful alpine skier Maria Höfl-Riesch who’s still in two minds about retiring.
While Germany had finished second in the overall standings in Vancouver four years ago, at the Sochi Games, their 153 athletes slipped to sixth, with eight gold, six silver and five bronze medals.
