One of the world’s most wanted men, drug baron, Joaquin “Shorty” Guzman has been arrested in Mexico.
He has long run the Sinaloa cartel, which smuggles large amounts of illegal drugs into the United States.
His capture came in a joint operation between the US and Mexico.
Guzman had been on the run since 2001 after escaping from a high-security prison in a laundry basket.
The country’s president Enrique Peña Nieto, who has been in office for just over two years ago, has taken a different approach to the war on drugs and this arrest is sure to be a boost to the government’s campaign.
