Ukraine: renewed clashes between protesters and police
Hundreds of anti-government protesters clashed with police outside Ukraine’s parliament in the capital, Kyiv, on Tuesday. Several protesters and police were injured, as well as journalists working for The Associated Press and Reuters news agency.
The protests erupted in November after Yanukovych shelved a long-planned treaty with the European Union and sought financial help from Moscow. After several protest rallies were violently dispersed, the demonstrations turned into a broader human rights, anti-corruption movement.
