What are the realities of working in the film industry? What different positions are out there and what do they involve? How can you gain that initial experience to take your first steps into a dream career?

You asked all these questions and more to our industry professionals who shared their experience, tips and advice. We were joined by Spanish writer/director Sergi Portabella, Romanian producer Gabi Suciu, and Polish film journalist Ewa Wildner, who were all selected for Berlinale Talents 2014. To give you a student’s perspective we met Bernhard Kreutzer, a freelance video and film editor who is currently studying at the renowned University of Television and Film in Munich. Also on the panel was Sidsel Hellebo-Hansson, a representative from the European Commission, who explained how and why the EU is supporting European film projects.
