New York native Michael Kors combined East and West coast with his signature uptown look for his 2014 Fall show in the Big Apple.
Entitled ‘Big Sur, Big City’, the collection featured a sombre autumnal palette with rich materials and embroidery.
Pullovers were made in fur, knit and tweed to satisfy all tastes. Double and single-breasted coasts were paired with fox scarves for extra warmth, and chiffon was mixed with silk on blouses and used for extra movement on long dresses.
Marchesa designers Keren Craig and Georgina Chapman presented a colourful collection they said was inspired by “visions of billowing bonfires sweeping through the Scottish Highlands”.
Famous for their red carpet gowns, the designers showed Oscar-worthy dresses with a Victorian flair featuring opulent lace, decadent embroidery, and luxurious fabrics.
No Marchesa show is complete without the final ball gown. This one was a gold, hand-draped silk dress with floral embroidery, sure to be seen on a red carpet near you in the coming months.
