Putin visits sanctuary for endangered Persian leopards
Russian President Vladimir Putin visited a sanctuary for endangered Persian leopards in the mountains above Sochi on Tuesday.
Putin was filmed with a group of cubs born last summer in the sanctuary, which was established five years ago as an Olympics-related project. Some of the new leopard population is to be released next year in hopes of repopulating southern Russia, where they became extinct in the 1970s.
