US congressman says sorry after balcony threat

A New York congressman has apologised for threatening to throw a television reporter over a balcony after being interviewed.

Former Marine Michael Grimm also reportedly said “I will break you in half” after being asked by Michael Scotto about possible finance violations in his campaign.

The interview had ostensibly been about Grimm’s reaction to President Obama’s State of the Union address when Scotto threw in his obviously unexpected question.

Grimm said he had overreacted.
