It was a double victory for Slovenia in the men’s ski jumping in Sapporo, with Peter Prevc taking first and Jernej Damjan second place.
Local hero Noriaki Kasai claimed third with a score of 272.1 over his two jumps.
But late take-offs in each round, left him “not satisfied” with his performance.
Not so for Damjan, who is reported to be “very happy” with Saturday’s result.
His score of 277.0 lead to him achieving his first podium finish since 2008.
Meanwhile, Prevc took his second win in the World Cup, scoring a total of 294.6 points after jumps of 137 and 134.5 metres.
He has a 17.6-point lead over his teammate and becomes a serious contender for the Sochi Olympic title.
