Flooding submerges Philippines homes
The Philippines Coastguard continued their rescue efforts in remote areas of the country where floods have displaced residents.
Floodwaters in Butuan City in Mindanao have reached as high as 2.5 metres, submerging houses and vehicles. People were brought to evacuation centres in speed boats where they were provided with temporary shelter, clothing and food. Several villages in the southern Philippines remain cut off due to inaccessible roads.
