Argentine president breaks silence

Argentine President Cristina Fernandez de Kirchner has made a televised address, speaking publicly for the first time in six weeks.

It ends a long silence which has caused speculation about her health following surgery.

The normally loquacious 60-year-old underwent surgery to remove a blood clot from her brain in October.

She returned to work on November 18.
