Floods hit south-eastern France after record rainfall

Heavy rains have caused severe flooding in southeastern France leaving two people dead and dozens of others needing to be airlifted to safety.

One man died in his basement while another was swept away in his car.

Around 4,000 homes mainly in the Var region have been left without power.

More than a month’s rain has fallen on the Mediterranean city of Nice since Thursday.
