Peterhansel hacks away at Roma's lead at Dakar

Joan Barreda Bort led the bikes from start to finish for his fourth stage win at Dakar, but the Spaniard still trails his compatriot Marc Coma by 44 seconds.

Coma crossed the line in fifth place.

French defending champion Cyril Despres moved up into sixth place from eighth overall.

In the cars Spain’s Nani Roma had to drive hard to keep the attentions of defending champion Frenchman Stephane Peterhansel at bay as the pair sped along the Chilean coast.

Peterhansel shaved 10 minutes off the Roma’s lead to end stage 10 just 2 minutes behind Roma overall.
