Tens of thousands of people took to the streets of Bilbao in Spain’s Basque Country on Saturday to march in support of jailed members of the Basque separatist group ETA.
About 600 members of the group are in prison in Spain.
ETA – or Euskadi Ta Askatasuna, which means Basque Homeland and Freedom in Basque – is accused of killing more than 800 people over more than four decades, many with car bombs.
ETA called a ceasefire in 2011, and speculation is growing that they may soon announce a full disarmament.
