Former NBA basketball star Dennis Rodman has defended his trip to North Korea to celebrate the birthday of the country’s leader Kim Jong-un.
Rodman is leading an all-star basketball team to play an exhibition match against a North Korean line up.
The exact age and birth date of Kim Jong-un is unknown.
Rodman reiterated his affection for the leader: “This is for his birthday, this is his gift. This is his gift, from me, from me, from the world. I love the guy, the guy is my friend, for ever and ever.”
Rodman has been criticised in the US for his connections with Pyongyang.
