Arsenal and the England national team suffered a blow when it was announced Theo Walcott has been ruled out for six months after rupturing his anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee.
The 24-year-old sustained the injury during the Gunners 2-0 victory over Tottenham in the FA Cup third round on Saturday.
Walcott will therefore miss the rest of the season for Arsenal but also this summer’s World Cup in Brazil.
Walcott has played 36 times for the Three Lions, scoring five goals.
The London club, who are currently top of the Premier League, said on their website Walcott will undergo surgery in the near future.
