Protesters clash with police in Turkey over corruption scandal

There have been clashes with police in Istanbul during an anti-government protest over a corruption scandal that has led to multiple arrests.

Protesters want the government to resign but Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan remains defiant. He claims the inquiry is an attempt to smear the government and undermine his rule.

Twenty-four peopl, including the sons of two ministers, have been formally charged with corruption after large sums of cash were discovered at the homes of some of the suspects.
