On the heels of his 2009 chart-topping success “At Home With Friends,” Grammy award-winning classical violinist Joshua Bell has once again gathered up a host of musical talent from across the spectrum for his latest album — this time with a holiday theme.
“I guess you would call it a Christmas album because most of it revolves around Christmas but it’s also the holidays. I come from a mixed background, celebrating Hanukkah and Christmas in my house. It has a little bit from some Jewish things and even some comedy, making fun of the two together,” Bell said
Entitled, ‘‘Musical Gifts from Joshua Bell and Friends,’‘ guests on the album include Latin-pop legend Gloria Estefan, Tony-winner Kristen Chenoweth, bluegrass star Alison Krauss as well as classical superstars Placido Domingo and Renee Fleming.
“It’s supposed to be about fun and just celebration and enjoying songs and music that we know, but in a completely new way,” Bell said.
Along with the release of the album, Bell will be on tour throughout Europe and the US in the New Year from January until April.
