Wednesday’s Champions League games see already-qualified Chelsea play Steaua Bucharest knowing a win would guarantee them top spot in Group E.
The Romanians, sitting bottom, face Chelsea with nothing to play for.
That is in sharp contrast to the group’s other game between Schalke and Basel – whoever wins will join Chelsea in the next round. But Basel, in second, know a draw will be enough to take them through.
In Group F, Arsenal travel to Napoli and need just a draw in order to qualify in first place. Napoli on the other hand will need to better Borussia Dortmund’s result against rock-bottom Marseille to progress. But it won’t be enough for Napoli to match Dormund’s result, because of an inferior goal difference.
In Group G, FC Porto, up against already-through Madrid, face an uphill task to progress. They must hope Zenit St Petersburg slip up at bottom club Austria Vienna.
In Group H whoever wins in the Milan-Ajax fixture will progress, with a draw good enough for the Italians.
Celtic, meanwhile, have little to play for away at Barcelona, who have already qualified.
